Ashley is a Speech Pathologist, Pediatric Feeding Specialist and Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist with more than 17 years experience working in pediatrics. She got her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in Communication Disorders in 2003 and her Masters in Speech Pathology from University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2006. After graduation. she moved to CA where she lived for 10 years, worked on a Craniofacial/ Nasoendoscopy team, served as Early Intervention Coordinator, conducting, creating and documenting a complex group therapy program , worked for a non-profit speech and hearing center, private practice, and contracted into early intervention/preschools, elementary and junior high schools treating a wide range of pediatric communication disorders. During that time, Ashley specialized in stuttering disorders, cleft palate, rare craniofacial syndromes and Autism. Ashley remains licensed in both Louisiana and California. In the span of her career, her clients have taken her down many different rabbit holes (as she LOVES continuing education) but have ultimately led to her specializing in the assessment and treatment of children and adults who have complex oral sensory and oral motor needs that are impacting breathing, sleeping, feeding, swallowing and/or speech production. Ashley is especially interested in those patients with complex medical presentations, developmental delay, Autism, Down Syndrome, Craniofacial Disorders and other rare syndromes/ conditions/ co-morbidities. Ashley also works with adults who have TMJ disorder, Sleep Disordered Breathing, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Picky Eating, Dysphagia, Tongue Tie and other Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders. Ashley’s approach to therapy includes treating the whole patient, being neurodiverse and neuro-affirming, using a relationship based model of treatment, being sensory aware, obtaining and maintaining a “just right” state of regulation and utilizing mindfulness, breathing and whole family involvement to achieve therapy goals. Ashley is also trained in manual therapy for the muscles of voice and swallowing/ myofascial release, sensory point Kinesio taping, is a Munchee certified practitioner and an Ambassador of the Breathe Institute.
